Mental Health Voices

Every year, CMHA Vernon participates in the popular fund raising event pioneered by CMHA Vancouver-Burnaby.  Mental Health Voices is a complimentary breakfast by special invitation, during which an award is presented to an individual from BC who has openly spoken out about the impact of mental illness on their life.  The one-hour breakfast will also showcase individuals who have benefited from being a part of CMHA--our success stories.

The event takes place the Wednesday of National Mental Illness Awareness Week, October 7th, 2009.  Though the Breakfast is a fund raiser, there is no minimum or maximum donation.

“The staff and the understanding they have for us, as consumers/ volunteers, is overwhelming. The reason for coming [toCMHA] is not monetary, it is to help us feel better about ourselves and to help get our lives back together. Without the support, I would be unable to accomplish this.”
